– Gensler said the lack of enforcement in the U.S. cryptocurrency space is reflected in the number of top executives in jail or awaiting sentencing.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has hit back at U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler’s recent slander that most cryptocurrency executives are going to jail.

In his tweet, Gerlinghaus said that Gensler, with his approach to cryptocurrency regulation, could oust U.S. President Joe Biden in the next election.

In an interview with Bloomberg on Tuesday, Gensler discussed the U.S. crypto industry, the planned launch of an ethereum exchange-traded fund (ETF), cryptocurrency regulation and the fate of industry executives.

The SEC chairman did not elaborate on the timeline for the launch of the Ethereum ETF, saying discussions are well underway, but denied claims of a conflict between cryptocurrencies and securities laws, saying there is no such thing.

Mr. Gensler said there is widespread non-compliance in the cryptocurrency sector, which is causing significant harm to U.S. investors. According to Mr. Gensler, the lack of compliance is evidenced by the number of leading cryptocurrency managers who are in jail or awaiting sentencing.
