January 1 (Upi) January 1, Solana VanEck, one of the first bitcoin-traded spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) issuers in the United States, has filed for a new Solana ETF.

Matthew Siegel, head of digital asset research at VanEck, announced on the X website at 6:27 a.m. that the company has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to create the Solana ETF.

According to Siegel, the new fund, named Vaneck Solana Trust, is designed to capitalize on the decentralized nature of Solana (SOL), its high utility and economic viability. According to the manager, the fund is the first Solan-based ETF application in the country.
