Digital asset investment products recorded strong inflows of US$708 million last week, bringing total inflows this year to US$1.6 billion and total global assets under management to US$53 billion.

However, ETP trading volumes fell to US$8.2 billion from US$10.6 billion the previous week, but are still above the weekly average of US$1.5 billion for 2023. According to the latest Coinshares report, these volumes represent 29% of all bitcoin transactions on reputable exchanges.

After a downturn in recent weeks, solanium-focused investment products are showing renewed strength as the overall market grows.

In the latest edition of its weekly digital asset fund flows report, CoinShares reported that Solana saw inflows of more than $13 million last week, outpacing Ethereum and Avalanche, which recorded outflows of $6.4 million and $1.3 million, respectively, during the same period. Other altcoins such as Cardano, Litecoin and XRP also recorded small inflows of USD 0.6 million, USD 0.3 million and USD 0.1 million respectively.

As expected, bitcoin-focused investment products continued to steal the show. According to a report from an asset management firm, the major cryptocurrency attracted inflows of $703 million last week, accounting for 99% of total inflows.

In contrast, outflows of short bitcoin positions totaled US$5.3 million. This mainly coincided with the reversal of the previous negative market dynamics.

As for the region, the US continues to be in the spotlight, with inflows totaling US$721 million over the past week. Over the past four weeks, inflows into these newly launched ETFs have averaged US$1.9 billion, bringing total inflows since their launch on January 11 to US$7.7 billion.

By contrast, however, outflows from existing issuers totaled US$6 billion, with the latest data showing a significant slowdown in outflows.

Switzerland, Germany and Brazil saw inflows of US$20.9 million, US$3.5 million and US$1.3 million respectively, Australia and France saw inflows of US$900 million and US$100 million respectively, while Canada and Sweden saw outflows of US$31.3 million and US$8.2 billion over the same period.
