– Monday, March 02, 2026. The Blockchain Deposit Insurance Corporation (BDIC) unveiled AgentCover Pro, an insurance solution for hedging risks in AI-driven autonomous crypto payments, as announced on Friday.

The initiative is designed to cover losses due to agent failures, unauthorized transactions, smart contract code errors, cross-chain bridge vulnerabilities and stackcoin volatility, and includes real-time monitoring and an automated claims cycle.

According to BDIC, this offering closes a niche ignored by standard insurance policies that are not adapted to fast-paced software-based payment systems that operate on blockchain and DeFi platforms through autonomous software agents. It offers coverage for a wide range of clients, from individuals to SMEs and large corporations.

Automated claims handling processes are designed to ensure prompt payouts for minor losses and reinsurance reserves for major incidents.

AML (anti-money laundering), KYC (know-your-customer) and sanctions list compliance checks are also integrated into the product structure to meet growing regulatory requirements. Coverage parameters and modular design of policies can be customized to meet the specific needs and risk profiles of users. BDIC announced a phased deployment: initially the product will be integrated with cryptocurrency wallets, custodial solutions and payment gateways.

In subsequent phases, as the use of standalone agents increases, there will be offerings embedded directly into user platforms. Underwriting will utilize historical and current blockchain data, supplemented by expert analysis of complex cases.
