– Ethereum issuances (ETFs) on March 20 were a more notable event. Total withdrawals reached 61,180 ETH worth $131.16 million, nearly 45% more than Bitcoin ETF outflows in dollar terms. BlackRock led Ethereum withdrawals with 44,130 ETH worth $94.59 million, accounting for 72.1% of all Ethereum ETF outflows concentrated at one operator.

This significant concentration is key to analyzing the session. The sale of 44,130 ETH by the BlackRock fund, which also led the outflows on Bitcoin, indicates an overall reduction in institutional risk across both leading assets, rather than a selection of specific assets. Fidelity added 5,480 ETH worth $11.76 million. Grayscale reduced its holdings by 3,970 ETH ($8.52 million). Bitwise raised 2,720 ETH for $5.83 million.

BlackRock’s total withdrawals from Bitcoin and Efirium for March 20 amounted to about $132.84 million from one manager per trading session. This amount exceeds the total outflow of all other operators combined.

On the background of the overall negative dynamics, two assets attracted funds. Solana ETFs raised 8,630 SOL for the equivalent of $767,000. The Chainlink ETF saw a more significant positive performance with 369,290 LINK worth $3.34 million. Both figures are small compared to the outflows of Bitcoin and Efirium, but they are the only positive indicators of institutional moves in an extremely pessimistic session.

ETFs on XRP, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Polkadot, Hedera and Avalanche recorded zero round-trip moves for the second consecutive day for most of these assets.

The day of March 20 followed March 19, when total outflows, as previously reported, totaled $219.50 million. The two-day total outflow from U.S. spot crypto-ETFs reached approximately $436.74 million. Ethereum ETFs have now seen sizable outflows in both sessions, with BlackRock acting as the largest issuer across asset classes on each of the days. On March 19, Bitcoin outflows were led by Fidelity. On March 20, BlackRock dominated outflows across both assets.
