Over 90% of ETH owners are now up after a recent surge.
Interest in ETH is growing among both private and large investors.
It’s altcoin season: a number of altcoins have shown significant growth today, even as BTC has declined.
Over 90% of ETH holders are now taking profits after the recent rally that saw the token reach $3,800 for the first time in a year. Sentora (formerly IntoTheBlock) data confirmed this, noting that this is the highest since December 2024.
According to the data, few wallets have bought ETH above the current price, indicating little resistance on the way up, which could push the token to new heights.
The significant number of profitable holders underscores the reversal that ETH has experienced in recent months. According to CoinMarketCap, ETH has increased in value by more than 120% over the past three months, from $1,800 to $3,800.
With this increase, the concerns about the price of ETH that dominated the Ethereum community in the first half of the year have completely dissipated, replaced by bullish sentiment that the asset could reach a new all-time high.
However, the token has declined slightly today, falling less than 1% , which looks like a minor price correction, although it is still set for further growth. Despite the correction, the general consensus remains bullish for ETH. Sentora analysts note that the first major resistance for ETH is just below $4,000, as 2.39 million wallets are losing in that range.
As the price of ETH rises, demand for the token is also increasing, with both institutional and retail investors buying it. Over the past few months, several public companies have purchased billions of ETH for their reserves.
Interestingly, retail investors are also keeping pace. Santiment data shows that ETH discussion on social media is now at a similar level to the price increase in May 2024. Ethereum currently has over 152 million wallets with ETH on their balance sheet, which is the highest of any cryptocurrency token.
It seems that interest in the asset is growing among new investors as well. According to Glassnode, the supply of ETH owned by first-time buyers has increased by 16% since the beginning of July, indicating an influx of new market participants and fresh capital.
Meanwhile, the rapid growth of ETH over the past three months seems to have triggered the altcoin season, with several tokens now showing a sharp rise in value. In the past 24 hours, major altcoins such as Solana and Dogecoin have risen by 7.74% and 6.70% respectively. Data
Santiment pointed to other leaders, noting that PENGU is up 16% , HEX is up 20% , PLSX is up 12% , and KAS is up 15% . Analysts note the redistribution of profits from bitcoin.
Interestingly, BTC is showing signs of consolidation: over the past seven days, the flagship asset has declined by more than 2% and is now trading in the $118,000 range. Online indicators also show a slowdown in inflows and an increase in transfers.
While altcoins, led by Ether, have surged in value, Bitcoin’s dominance has also fallen to 59.67% , its lowest level since March 2025 and a far cry from 65% less than 30 days ago. By comparison, ETH’s dominance at 11.58% is the highest since January 2025.
